Novus Learning Network

A decentralised support network for educators building the future of learning

Thinking about launching your own online school — but overwhelmed by the cost, the complexity, or where to begin?

You’re not alone.

From SEND tribunals to teacher burnout, from neurodivergent learners falling through the cracks to families left with no real choice but home education — the current system isn’t just under strain. It’s failing those who need it most.

That’s why we created Novus Learning Network (NLN) — a membership-based support community for educators, leaders, parents, and changemakers who know things must evolve, and are ready to co-create that future.

We’re not offering a franchise.
We’re not selling a one-size-fits-all solution.

We’re opening the box of building blocks — and inviting you to shape what comes next.

What is it?

NLN is a collaborative space for:

  • Headteachers with vision
exploring hybrid education or planning to establish a fully online school.
  • SENCOs and parents
seeking the language, frameworks, and practical steps to advocate for flexible provision.
  • Consultants, mentors and experienced practitioners
ready to share their knowledge, contribute thoughtfully, and support others without burning out.

It’s a growing ecosystem of shared tools, proven policies, peer support and live conversations. Expect: fortnightly calls, interactive workshops, case study deep-dives, and curated policy toolkits drawn from real-life implementations across the UK and beyond.

Why now?

Because building schools in the cloud is no longer an abstract concept — it's a pragmatic, necessary response to systemic gaps.

AI is transforming how curriculum is created.
Young people are demanding more flexible, inclusive models.
Educators are reimagining their roles in response to shifting needs.

And while the bureaucratic barriers remain, they’re no longer insurmountable.
Together, we can build something better — block by block.

Our community believes every school should have the option to offer online provision — whether for one learner or one thousand.

We believe education is a commons, not a commodity.

What do members get?

Access to evolving toolkits:
student onboarding templates, parent communications, AI-informed teaching, learning and assessment examples, asynchronous course designs, and more.

Live, rotating sessions with peers and experts:
fortnightly calls focused on real-world challenges and live problem-solving — not sales pitches.

A safe, practical space to ask key questions:

“What’s actually required to register online provision?”
“How do we support neurodivergent learners remotely?”
“What tech stack do I need to get started?”

A culture of shared contribution:
We don’t gatekeep knowledge. We adapt, remix, and improve resources collaboratively.

Why we charge

Because meaningful innovation takes time, care, and people power.

Our membership fee sustains the real humans behind this work — and ensures this space can grow thoughtfully, without relying on unpaid labour or unsustainable scaling.

We want this to be something that lasts. That evolves. That supports others to do the same.

Welcome to a new kind of school.

📌 A Note on How We Use Surplus Funds

Where does your membership fee go?
We believe in transparency, fair pay, and shared purpose.

  • First, it covers the people — our team, our speakers, our hosts. No one is asked to work for free.
  • Then, it sustains the platform — maintaining tools, tech, and systems that let us work well together.
  • If we ever generate a surplus, we’ll use it to amplify access and impact:
    • Fund bursaries for learners at The Haven and similar schools
    • Seed fund new community-led online schools in under-resourced areas
    • Offer microgrants and mentorship to parents, educators, and SEND leaders building from scratch

This isn’t a side hustle. It’s a movement. And if we do this right, no one burns out — and no one is left out.

Because the future of learning should feel like it belongs to all of us.
